3 Things to know about LLMs aka Large Language Models 

Large language models work fast and offer valuable insights, but like interns, they still need your guidance to ensure accuracy and alignment with your goals. 

1. Large language models are prediction machines, not encyclopedias of truth. 
   • LLMs produce responses based on patterns rather than facts. Adopt a “question and verify” mindset when using them. Don’t assume their guesses are accurate. Always make sure to verify the output.
2. Large language models are conversationalists, not experts. 
   •  Your critical eye on the substance of the outputs of LLMs is essential, especially because the outputs attempt to sound convincing. An LLM will ALWAYS sound as if it is 100% confident in its answer, even when its answers aren’t accurate. 
3. Large language models are most powerful when paired with your own expertise.
   • As LLMs learn from more diverse datasets, their outputs can become more accurate, creative, and useful. Understanding how these tools grow will help you make better decisions, ask better questions, and avoid relying on outdated information.
